is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in
this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation that
will be released. Solicitation number CS-I-24842 is issued as a request
for quotation (RFQ) and incorporates provisions and clauses that are in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. the standard
industrial classification code (SIC) is 2542. The small business size
standard is 500. This requirement will result in a firm fixed price
purchase order with. The services are described as follows: Redesign
and layout of existing approximately 1137 each metal shelving units
(18"x42"x86") located in the Records Section warehouse, U.S. Customs
Service, 6 World Trade Center, New York, N.Y. Maximize layout using CAD
(computer aided drawing) to show several options. Relocation of
approximately 1137 shelving units. This includesthe separation and
reattachment of the units and the removal of boxes from the shelving
prior to relocation. Boxes will be returned to shelving units after
relocation. The purchase and installation of approximately 90 each new
shelving units (72"W x 9'H x 36"d) to accommodate relocation of
documents in the Record Section warehouse. New shelving units will be
of light duty metal with 3/4" shelf plywood. Vendor will provide trash
removal, punch list and warranty provisions for new shelving units.
The following FAR clauses and provisions apply: 52.212-1, Instructions
to Offerors- Commercial items, 52.212-5, Contract terms and conditions
required to implement Statues or Executive Offerors -- Commercial Items
will apply to the resultant contract: 52.203-6, 52.219-8,
52.219-14,52.222-26, 52-222-26, 52.222-35, 52.222-37, 52.225-3,
52.222-41, 52.222-42, 52.222-43 and 52.217-9. Offerors should include
a completed copy of the provisions at 52-212-3, Offeror representations
and Certification-commercial items, with their proposal. The government
will make a purchase order award to the offeror who is technically
acceptable and offers the lowest price. The contractors responsibility
will be pursuant to FAR 9.104-1. The government may evaluate proposals
and make award without discussions. Proposals are Due Wednesday, August
4, 1999 at 3:30pm local time. Facsimile proposals (317) 298-1344 are
acceptable. Late proposals will not be considered. Proposals shall be
