and RETrieval) is an EPA maintained database that provides tribal users
with the ability to: 1) Store and retrieve water quality information.
2) Document the quality of the data that they collect. 3) Maintain
continuity with regards to their data management practices. 4) Have the
option of releasing their data publically. Thirteen Tribes in Region 8
have already requested the use of STORET. The EPA Region 8 is looking
to address this request in an effective and sustainable manner by
funding a contractor to help facilitate a simple and seamless approach
to STORET data retrieval and analysis. This contractor will seek out
the insight required to include the collective needs of the Tribes in
this process. Duties, Award Requirements and Deliverables The selected
contractor will work with each participating Tribe to: 1) Assess their
data retrieval and analysis needs. 3) Create and distribute a flexible
data retrieval module based on collective needs. 5) Create and
distribute a user guide for this module. The selected contractor must
have demonstrated experience retrieving data from the modernized STORET
database (released November, 1998). This contractor should have
experience assessing the retrieval needs of a variety of user groups to
create a flexible data retrieval/analysis module. The contractor should
also understand STORET to the point where they will be able to 1)
inform the Tribes of what their data management options are and 2) help
support any data management decisions that the Tribes make given this
new information. Project costs within the EPA's budget will also be an
evaluation criteria. The contractor will supply the following
deliverables: 1) Monthly status reports. 2) A written assessment of the
Tribe's individual and collective data retrieval/analysis needs within
120 days of award. 3) A flexible data retrieval module within 1 year
of award. 5) A User Guide for the retrieval modules within 1 year of
award. This Procurement is out of the US EPA Denver Regional office
whichincludes the states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South
