COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 30,1999 PSA#2399CANCELLATION OF REQUEST FOR INFORMAITON (RFIS) On 12 January, 1999, the
Military District of Washington Acquisition Center (MDWAC), Fort
Belvoir, Virginia issued (6) six Requests for Information (RFIs) for
potential sources sought under the following Standard Insustrial
Categories (SIC): (1) SIC 5812, Announcement No. 287154, Food Services,
(2) SIC 7349, Announcement No. 287076, Custodial Services, (3) SIC
4226, Announcement No. 287186, Household Services, (4) SIC 4953,
Announcement No. 287114, Refuse Services, (5) SIC 7381, Announcement
No. 28716, Security Maintenance and Protection of Building Occupants,
and (6) SIC 0782, Announcement No. 287192, Grounds Maintenance, The
respective categories encompass the potential consolidation of
requirements with in the Military District of Washington (MDW) to
include Fort's Belvoir, Virginia, McNair, Washington D.C., Myer,
Virginia, A.P. Hill, Virginia, Meade, Maryland, and Hamilton, N.Y. RFIs
were due not later than 18 February, 1999, with the potential for a
formal solicitation to be announced on or about 23 April 1999. The
individual announcements for each category clearly stated that the RFI
did not constitute an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor did it constitue
a Request for Quotation (RFQ). Further stated in each announcement is
that the Government is under no obligation to award any related
contract associated with the above mentioned RFIs. Therefore, it is in
the Government's interest to inform the public that the aforementioned
RFI regarding each category expired as stated 18 February 1999 in their
entirety until further announcements are publishedin the Commerence
Business Daily (CBD). Solicitations published after this date are in no
way to be misconstrued as related to the aforementioned RFI categories
in regards to the consolidation initiative and should be considered as
separate and distinct requirements. The MDWAC would like to extend its
appreciation to all who submitted questions and or comments with
respect to this consolidation of similar/like requirements initiative
