Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for the Rock Creek Park Project PRA-ROCR 202(1) in Washington, DC. The project consists of bridge repair and maintenance of five bridge structures. The work includes bridge deck removal, concrete repair, cleaning concrete, placing structural concrete, installation of bridge railings, construction of temporary support structures, surface preparation and painting, and removing and resetting stone masonry. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Removal of bridge deck: 290 m2; Aggregate base: 180 m3; Structural concrete: 110 m3; Repair concrete: 90 m2; Clean concrete: 220 m2; Reinforcing steel: 13,225 kg; Timber bridge rail: 175 m; Guardrail: 200 m; Remove and reset masonry: 6 m3; Construction signs: 88 m2; and Temporary concrete barrier: 130 m. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $500,000 to $1,000,000. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1,000,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
