Concerns having the ability to furnish the product described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within 45 calendar days from the date of this synopsis. The U.S. Geological Survey requires detailed (flightline spacing of 800 meters -- mile -- or better) modern aeromagnetic data over the upper Cook Inlet region to improve earthquake hazard, energy resource, and mineral resource assessments of the Anchorage urban area. The USGS seeks to purchase available commercial data, with appropriate permission to publish interpretations and result. The area of interest totals approximately 14,850 line miles. The minimum required survey specifications are 800 m flightline spacing, 250(over water areas) and 500 ft (over urban regions) flying height, and 3,200 m (2 mile) control line spacing. Sample spacing shall be at least every 7 m (23 ft) along the lines. The USGS requires that the data be delivered as IGRF-corrected and leveled grids, and as digital flightline files, within 30 days of award of the contract. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253 (1), implemented by FAR 6.302.1, the Government considers the item specified as a sole source from World Geoscience, 18000 Groeschke, Houston, TX 77084 and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the require item (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein.
