and Naturalization Service (INS), Dallas, Texas, is looking for sources
for a Digital Video Recording System/Logger with a CD ROM Writer.
Digital Video Recording System/Logger: As a minimum must be capable of
recording a minimum of 16 and expandable to 48 NTC video inputs, color
and B/W, simultaneously and continuously for 24 hours. Any channel
(video) must be accessible for playback at any time without
interrupting the recording. The playback must be directly addressable
by time designation to enable operator to locate by time. The playback
must be capable of visible fast forward and fast reverse. The playback
function will be accessible from office to office via the LAN or WAN
interface. The video data must be capable of rapid transfer to a
reusable archive device (included in this package) for retrieval one
year after storage. This storage media must allow retrieval of the
video in the same manner as above, directly accessible by time. Video
inputs must feed through toother monitors. There must be multiple audio
channels as well, 16 upgradable to 48. All aspects of the system must
be user configurable and/or programmable. Motion detectors must be able
to be disabled by the operators. Internal systems will be redundant,
allowing maintenance and repair without losing logging capability.
Power supply must be standard 120V, 60hz with battery backup capable of
running this entire system for four continuous hours. System must be
user upgradable "hot" using standard off the shelf parts. Vendor must
also supply any software upgrades for one year after purchase.
Maintenance manuals and technical training will be included for each
site. The unit must be 19" rack mountable. Nice System DVR (Digital
Video Recording System) is an example of this requirement. Also provide
a device to write to a CD ROM on one time write CD's (not multiple
write CD's) in standard IBM format viewable at any computer. This will
be for incident transfer for court evidence. This would be a separate
device from the long term archive. The transfer will be from the long
term archive. System must be Y2K compliant. Interested firms may fax
