The Operational Contracting Division, Commercial Acquisition = Branch, Hanscom AFB, MA intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the replacement of the boiler at the Clinic. The project consists of providing all supervision, personnel, equipment and services necessary = to remove and dispose of two existing 15 horsepower heat loop recovery = pumps, and one York Shipley boiler. Install a boiler for low pressure steam operation, suggested boiler: York Shipley Model #448-SPL-100 Firetube design or an identical unit designed to burn #2 fuel oil and natural = gas with an input capacity not to exceed 10,000,000 BTU/hour. Remove = existing 15 horsepower pump motors on two existing heat recovery water pumps. Install two new 20 horsepower motor for each existing heat recovery = water pump. Provide new flexible pump/motor shaft connector. Coordinate = motor dimensions/frame size with existing pump manufacturer. Remove existing conductors (3 #10 + 1 #10GND each) between motor control center and pumps to be replaced. Existing =BE" conduits will remain unused. Pull new conductors (3 #8 + 1 #8 GND = each) in existing =BE" conduits. Provide new overloads in existing starters = to serve new 20 horsepower pumps. Starters are located in the existing = motor control center in the mechanical room. Overloads shall be sized in accordance with the motor manufacturer's nameplate data. Adjust = balancing valves at each pump discharge to deliver 430 GPM. A site visit for = this project will be held on Thursday, 12AUG99 at 10:00 AM local time. All interested parties shall meet at building 1900. The Standard = Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this project is 1711 and the size = standard is $7.0M. This project will be solicited using commercial practices in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12.
