This amendment issued to address the following questions that were received in response to solicitation number EXIM-99-0004's CBD synopsis notice posted in the CDBnet on July 14, 1999. 1. Q. Can the bidders see Ex-Im Bank's graphic manual and GPO's Class I printing standards prior to RFP due date? A. Call Niki Shepperd at (202) 565-3202 to schedule date and time to review Ex-Im Bank's graphic manual and the bidders are to contact GPO to obtain a copy of their printing manual. 2. Q. Who is the audience for the Annual Report? A. Congress, potential customers, and current customers 3. Q. Is there anything the agency wants to improve upon or change from last years Annual Report? A. We would like to use more graphs and charts than in previous years. 4. Q. Will the Annual Report be a four-color process publication? A. Yes 5. Q. Will the agency provide photography or artwork? A. Both, but additional photography and artwork may be requested. 6. Q. Will the agency want a photo shoot on-site at the agency or in stock/royalty photography sufficient for their needs? A. Some original photography may be requested. As well as some stock photography may be acceptable. 7. Q. Can the agency estimate the number of photos/images that will be incorporated in the Annual Report? A. No, this depends on the design being used. 8. Q. Is the contractor responsible for providing a price for stock photography with the RFP submission? A. No 9. Q. How many proofs are needed for each deliverable? A. Two, one color and one xeroxed, and also, three color concepts, for cover and interior design are required. 10. Q. What quality of proof does the client want for the deliverable? A. Digital, high resolution color proof (rainbow or similar digital format) of the cover for the annual report. A lower resolution color proof (i.e. Cannon) for the remaining portion of the annual report. This proof is considered a "final" pre-press proof not a match print. 11. Q. What is intended use of the IBM compatible format? Does the client need the entire project produced with IBM software? A. Ex-Im Bank uses an IBM system. MAC format and materials are not acceptable. The graphic files will be incorporated for use on the internet and in other publications. Original art work, design, charts, and graphics are the property of Ex-Im Bank. 12. Q. Are there any software requirements that the designer use their preferred software for completion of project? A. Yes, adobe acrobat reader requirements for the PDF version of the annual report. 13. Q. When the RFP discusses IBM compatible format such as jpeg, tiff, gif for Internet Utilization (ten images) what does ten images mean? A. Files must be provided which allow Ex-Im Bank to construct HTML web pages with the images and graphics used in the Annual Report. 14. Q. Can you provide guidance for how many hours of revisions the agency expects to make. A. No 15. Q. Is the price a fixed price or are their provisions to revise the price after contract award based on new parameters or specifications? A. Yes, this is a firm fixed price. 16. Q. Will the contractor be responsible for additional pre-press materials not described in the RFP (such as film output)? A. No, the film output is the responsibility of the printer. 17. Q. Can the term "color copies" be defined further? Is there an estimate number of copies? Does this term include high resolution proof and match prints? A. See answer to question number 10 above. Up to four final proof color copies may be requested or a total of four color copies including two color final proofs. The proposal due date is hereby extended until 4:30 p.m. on August 11, 1999.
