TELECOMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT SERVICES A solicitation will not be issued from this synopsis. This synopsis provides notification that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to extend portions of contract 68-W2-0013 on a sole source basis, to the incumbent, DynCorp, Information & Engineering Technology, 12750 Fair Lakes Circle, Fairfax, VA 2203. The extension will cover no more than a six months period, beginning 1 October 1999 and ending no later than March 31, 2000. DynCorp is the only qualified responsible source which can meet the Government's requirement to provide continued support under EPA's Telecommunications Support Services contract, without significant costs, schedule impacts and major disruption to the Agency's critical services until a replacement contract is competitively awarded. In addition, DynCorp will be held responsible for the solution of any Year 2000 problems arising during this period of extension and for planning EPA's transition to the FTS2001 contract. DynCorp will continue to provide the following services: Operations of the conferencing bridges, of the HQ Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) system, of the locator service, of compilation of the HQ and national locator data bases and development of the HQ telephone directory. DynCorp will also continue to perform procurements in support of their national operations, support videoconferencing users, support technical assessment projects, provide national voice support and FTS Business Office operation located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and Field Services to include telecommunications support to regional office and labs in 12 locations.
