The work is situated at Folsom Dam approximately 2 miles north of Folsom, CA in Sacramento County. The principal components of the work under these specifications include furnishing and installing structural steel, miscellaneous metalwork, control gate hoists, enclosure structure, gates, relief gates, water quality analyzer, temperature collection equipment, hoist control cabinet and programmable logic controller. Some installation will require underwater construction methods. Performance period is 365 days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. The estimated price range of the work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This solicitation is issued subject to availability of funds for FY2000. Award will be made pursuant to the "Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program." Offerors need not be small businesses in order to submit an offer under this program. Large businesses must comply with the FAR 52.219-9 clause regarding the requirement for a subcontracting plan on the part of the work it intends to subcontract. The recommended goals for subcontracting are 15% for small business, 6% for small disadvantaged business, and 1% for woman-owned small business.
