Y -- SANTA FE TRAIL PUBLIC USE AREA, SEWAGE LAGOON CONSTRUCTION, COUNCIL GROVE LAKE, KANSAS SOL DACW56-99-B-0042 DUE 092199 POC Diane Cianci, Contract Specialist, 918/669-7270 This project will consist of constructing a two-celled sewage lagoon with approximately dimensions of 100' X 100' (each cell) by 8' deep from top of berm to clay lined bottom. The contractor shall be required to hook the sewage lagoon via piping to a septic tank currently under construction at the Santa Fe Trail PUA shower/toilet facility. Stub-out piping for future connection to a trailer dump station will be required. The lagoon will have 3:1 side slopes except for the divider berm, which shall be constructed on 2:1 slopes. One end of the lagoon outer slope will be required to have riprap placed on it as it lies within the 100-yr flood pool elevation. The contractor shall be required to place broken rock from excavation onto the interior 2:1 slopes for added wave action protection. There is useable topsoil and random fill available from the material to be excavated, however, the material to compact the clay liner will have to be obtained from off-site borrow sources. Removal of a few trees shall be required in the location where the lagoon is to be sited. Estimated cost range of this project is $100,000 to $250,000. Plans and specifications will be available on or about August 19, 1999, and will be provided on Compact Disk (CD-ROM). THE NUMBER OF CD-ROMS WILL BE LIMITED TO ONE (1) PER FIRM. Plans, specifications, and planholders lists will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
