The project work consists of removing shoals along the Entrance Channel Cut-1N. The Base Bid Item consists of dredging material from Station 220+00 to Station 485+00 to a required depth of 49 feet plus 2-foot allowable overdepth. Dredged material removed from the Base Bid will be placed in the designated ocean disposal area, D/A-O, located approximately 12.5 miles from the project site except for the material removed from Station 220+00 to 230+00 (Range 1000 to 1250) which will be placed in the designated nearshore disposal area, D/A-N, located approximately 7 miles from the project site. The Optional Bid Item consists of dredging material from Station 116+00 to Station 124+00 to a required depth of 46 feet plus 2-foot allowable overdepth. Dredged material removed from the Optional Bid Item will be placed in the designated nearshore disposal area, D/A-N. Total quantity to be dredged is approximately 700,000 cubic yards for the Base Bid Item and approximately 20,000 cubic yards for the Optional Bid Item. All types of dredging equipment will be allowed to bid on this contract; however, hopper dredges will only be allowed to work during the period from 15 December through 28 February. Work also includes sea turtle trawling and relocation, turbidity monitoring, and endangered species monitoring. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
