is soliciting quotes for Chewaucan Trail Bridge Repair & Protection
Project located on the Paisley Ranger District of the Fremont National
Forest. The project consists of installing a new concrete columnar
bridge abutment under one end of a 100 foot long x 6 foot wide steel
trail bridge that is approximately 13' above the Chewaucan River. This
will require lifting the bridge end off the existing wood support,
supporting the end of the bridge while removing existing support,
excavating for and installing the new abutment. Additionally, there is
approximately 600 c.y. of large (12-36" dia.) riprap to be installed
along each bank of the river up and down stream from the bridge. The
riprap is currently in a stockpile in a rock quarry about 23 miles from
the bridge and will have to be hauled to the site and placed under this
contract. The Bridge is located on the Chewaucan River, which is 7.7
miles Southeast of Paisley, Oregon on the paved Forest Service Road
#33. Paisley is located on Oregon State Highway 31 approximately 43
miles north of Lakeview, Oregon and 135 miles Southeast of Bend,
Oregon. Estimated issue date is August 17, 1999 and estimated open date
is September 16, 1999. Approximate start work date is September 24,
1999. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. This
procurement is being conducted under the Small Business Competitive
Demonstration Program in accordance with PL 100-656. This is not
