The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is planning to issue a Request For Proposal (RFP) for the acquisition of Small Arms Training Equipment and Services for the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense (MOD). The objective of this effort is to produce, deliver, install, maintain, and certify specified quantities of small arms training simulators and compatible modified Russian weapons for the MOD, as well as provide specialized training and training materials to Russian personnel. The contractor shall produce 60 sets of eight-lane small arms training simulators/associated sets of modified Russian weapons, three authoring stations, computer generated scenarios and courses of fire, and deliver them to the U.S. Government for transport to Sergiev Posad, Russia; install one simulator with one set of modified Russian weapons and three authoring stations at Sergiev Posad; provide Russian personnel relevant installation, operation, and maintenance training on the simulator-weapons system and the authoringstation at Sergiev Posad; and hire Russian firm(s) that are licensed, or can be licensed, by the MOD to certify the simulator/weapons hardware and software, as well as provide maintenance on the systems.
