Del to 6200 Flagship Circle, Blount Island Command, Jacksonville, FL, 32226. ; The Government anticipates awarding a contract to GE for the effort since the upgrade is considered sole source to GE, the original manufacture of the system. This upgrade consists of replacement of the existing GE Fanuc Model Series Six PLC with GE Fanuc Model Series 90-30 PLC, upgrade of the existing DC300 drive to DC2000 drives, and upgrade of the existing ECMS to GE's latest CMS2000 system. This system represents GE's current crane drive system offering and will bring the crane drive system in line with those being supplied on the US Navy's newest cranes. Further, this offering will eliminate concerns the user may have regarding obsolescence of the DC300 drive and anticipated obsolescence (within 1 year) of the Series Six PLC. A competitive solicitation document does not exist. Any company that considers being able to accomplish this work must provide in writing a proposal for accomplishing the work in sufficient detail to allow the Government to evaluate and determine that work can be performed. This proposal must include qualifications, availability of parts/material, plan of work, price of effort, etc. If no response is received within 15 days of publication of this announcement, the Government will award a contract to GE on a sole source basis without further notice.
