State, Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs,
Office of Resource Management has requirement for an individual to be
a Drug Interdiction Advisor at the American Embassy in Mexico. The
incumbent shall assist the NAS Director and Deputy Director in
monitoring and reporting on narcotics control projects in Mexico. The
incumbent shall advise on planning, implementation and evaluation of
the full range of drug interdiction program activities, including
operations and trainingas well as monitoring drug interdiction and
eradication activities. This assignment is for one year with option to
extend the term. PSCs are treated on par with other USG employees.
Minimum qualifications include: U.S. citizen, subject to State
Department security clearance (top secret level); bachelor's degree
from an accredited educational institution; a master's degree in
foreign affairs, international development, public administration,
criminal justice, latin american studies, orrelated fields is helpful;
ten years relevant overseas work experience, expecially in the areas
of project implementation, evaluation, technical advice,and liaison
activities; fluency in spoken and written spanish; and physically
qualified to live and work in Mexico City and to travel frequently. A
SF-171 is required to apply. The GS grade equivalent is GS-13. This
requirement is for individuals ONLY. A PSC WILL NOT be awarded to a
