Department of State, Bureau for International Narcotics and Law
Enforcement Affairs, Office of Resource Management, has a requirement
for an individual to be an aviation maintenance advisor at the American
Embassy in Bogota. The incumbent will perform maintenance advisory
tasks on behalf on the Narcotics Affairs Section (NAS) in support of
the Colombian National Police (CNP)'s Air Services Division (DISAP).
The incumbent will be under the overall direction of the NAS Director,
Bogota and will receive daily direction and guidance from the NAS
Deputy Director. This assignment is for one year with the option to
extend the term. PSCs are treated on par with other USG employees.
Minimum qualifications inlcude: must be a U.S. citizen; subject to
State Department security clearance (top secret level); speak,
understand, read and write in both English and Spanish (minimum FSI
level 2/2 preferred); fifteen years commercial and/or military aviation
maintenance experience; primilary rotor wing aircraft, including
UH-1H/Uh-1N/Bell212/Bell205 helicopters; five yars experience as
Director or Supervisor of aircraft maintenance,and/or quality control,
in an organization supporting 20 or more aircraft; experience with
both military and commercial aviation maintenance systems and
publications; experience in identifying aircraft maintenance and repair
requirements and developing solutions for maintenance at on-site and
remote field locations; and FAA A&P license or equivalent certification
as demonstrated by graduation from military technical courses. A SF-171
is required to apply. The GS grade equivalent is GS-12. This
requirement is for individuals ONLY. A PSC WILL NOT be awarded to a
