EMV-1999-RQ-0043 previously posted in the CBDNet on June 29, 1999 has been amended. Amendment A002 is issued to the above combined synopsis/solicitation for purchase of 40 Fujitsu Stylistic 2300 hand-held computers or equal. This amendment is issued in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes an amendment of the above solicitation, quotes are being requested, and a written amendment will not be issued. This amendment is issued to revise the requirement, to furnish questions and answers concerning this synopsis/solicitation and extend the due date. (1) Change specifications as follows: (a) From: OPERATING SYSTEMS: Windows NT Workstations 4.0 with PenX 1.51, Windows 98 with Pen Services 2.0 and Pen X 1.51; Windows 95 with Pen Services 2.0 and PenX 1.51 to now Read: OPERATING SYSTEMS: Windows 95 with Pen Services 2.0 and Pen X 1.51. (2) QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Question No. 1: Of the 40 systems how many will be active matrix and how many will be color transflective. Answer: The contractor can provide one or the other, the government has no preference. Question No. 2: Of the 40 systems, how many will need Windows 95 loaded, Windows 98 loaded, and Windows 95 NT loaded? Answer: All 40 units must be loaded with Windows 95. Question No. 3: My company will be bidding Fujitsu products for this bid. Do you have any part numbers for the systems you would like? Answer: No, the government has no part numbers. Question No. 4: In the non-mandatory items section, a reference to "This service must also be able to support all user or hardware problems that occur during this period, "does this include software support such as Windows NT, driver, ACEII, Network system and/or other software related issues? Please clarify. Answer: Only hardware as stated in the synopsis/solicitation. Question No 5: What is the exact FEMA provided software? Automated Construction Estimation (ACE) field software. How will this be provided: CD, ZIP-Drive, 3.5 Diskettes (qty.). Answer: FEMA will provide a File Transfer Protocol Site (FTP). Question No. 6: On installing the ACEII and FEMA network system, will configuration instructions be provided? Answer: FEMA will provide configuration instructions during the testing period. Question No. 7: Does the required FEMA software come with setup files and/or setup instructions? Is it possible to obtain a copy of the setup instructions for the system? Answer: FEMA will provide software setup instructions during the testing period. Question No. 8: What is the operating system to be delivered with the system? WinNT 4.0 Win 98 or Win95. Answer: See answer to Question No. 2 above. Question No. 9: What type of network operation system will the system be connecting to? Answer: It will be connected to NT Protocol, TCP/IP. Question No. 10: What type of connectivity (wired or wireless and what type) will be used to connect to the network? Answer: The connectivity will be telephone line. Question No. 11: How many charges are required and are they optional line items? Answer: Not applicable. Question No. 12: How many batteries are required and are they optional line items? Not applicable. Batteries are part of the hardware specifications. The date for receipt of quotes is extended to August 12, 1999, 4:30 p.m., local time. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this amendment A002 before the hour and date specified in the RFQ. Failure of this acknowledgement may result in rejection of your quote. If as a result of this amendment you desire to change a quote already submitted, such a change may be made by a letter. The letter must refer to the RFQ No. EMV-1999-RQ-0043 and this amendment, and received before the opening hour and date specified. The synopsis/solicitation EMV-1999-RQ-0043 is amended as indicated above. The date for receipt of quotes is extended to August 12, 1999, 4:30 p.m. local time.
