301-496-0349 The Drug Development and Clinical Sciences Branch,
Therapeutics Research Program, Division of AIDS, National Institute of
Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), NIH, has a requirement to
develop and manufacture clinical dosage forms for drugs intended for
use in animal efficacy models, preclinical toxicology studies, and
clinical trials. These efforts will support a comprehensive portfolio
of contract resources to discover and develop novel therapeutic agents
for the prevention and treatment of infections caused by human
immunodeficiency virus, AIDS-associated opportunistic pathogens, and
other infectious agents. This contract will help assure that
experimental therapies will be appropriately formulated for animal and
human studies and that the final manufactured dosage forms conform to
applicable FDA regulatory requirements. It is anticipated that one (1)
cost reimbursement, completion type contract will be awarded for a
period of five (5) years, beginning approximately June 1, 2000. RFP
NIH-NIAID-DAIDS-00-11 will be available electronically on or about
August 16, 1999, and may be accessed through the NIAID Contract
Management Branch (CMB) Home Page by using the following electronic

Once at the NIAID/CMB Home Page, click on the "RFPs" link and then

acquisition has been revised to include only the Work Statement,
Deliverable and Reporting Requirements, Special Requirements and
Mandatory Qualification, if any, the Technical Evaluation Criteria, and
the Specific RFP Instructions and Provisions. All information required
for the submission of an offer will be contained in the electronic RFP
package. Following proposal submission and the initial review process,
Offerors comprising the competitive range will be requested to provide
additional documentation to the Contracting Officer. Responses to this
RFP will be due on or about November 1, 1999. Any responsible Offeror
may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the Government.
