Indefinite Quantities contract for a log placement, "walking backhoe"
equipment rental with operator. Project includes a Minimum of 100 hours
to a maximum of 750 hours for log placement; a minimum of 100 hours to
a maximum 500 hours for transport; and 3 mobilizations for the seasons
July 15, 2000 to November 1, 2000; July 15, 2001 to November 1, 2001;
and field season July 2002 to November 1, 2002. Project is located on
two districts of the Ochoco National Forest in Prineville, Oregon. Work
shall be accomplished by using a walking backhoe with four
independently hydraulic powered adjustable legs, with opposable thumb
on budket and cable winch which meets the following specifications. 360
degree rotation working ability; two buckets with digging teeth and
hydraulic thumb designed to handle boulders and logs; ability to
operate in 5 feet of water and work on 1:1 slope; diesel engine with a
minimum power (net) of 45 h.p.; minimum backhoe reach of 25 feet
(horizontal); minimum backhoe digging of 15 feet(horizontal) reach;
hydraulic winch mounted on the engine; capble of lifting one ton with
boom extended; and pads on arms with teeth may be needed to exit
streams. This project is 100% set aside for small business concerns.
