to establish a requirements type contract for repair of various LRUs
and SRUs applicable to the B-52 FLIR (AAQ-23 System). The proposed
contract will consist of a one-year basic contract period, two one-year
options, and a 120-day option. The approximate issue date is 01 Sep 99
with a response due approximately 04 Oct 99. To: Lockheed Martin
Fairchild Systems (LMFS), Syosset NY. The RFP will be issued
electronically and may be accessed at the web site identified in this
notice. Electronic responses will be accepted. Information submitted
electronically is insecure and could be observed by a third party while
in transit The proposed contract action is for supplies/services for
which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one
source under the authority of 10 U.S.C.2304 (c)(1). This notice of
intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all
proposals received within 30 days after publication of this synopsis
will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government
not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this
notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Firms
interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact LMFS
directly. All potential offerors should contact the buyer/contracting
officer identified above for additional information and/or to
communicate any concerns regarding this acquisition. If your concerns
are not satisfied by the contracting officer, an Ombudsman has been
appointed to hear serious concerns that are not resolved through
established channels. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish
the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to
communicate serious contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and
recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the
