The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), St. Inigoes, MD has a requirement for modified 5th wheel trailer system. The Joint Base Station Variant One, JBS(V)1 is a rapidly deployable, air transportable, ground mobile, integrated communication system, installable in a S-710/M shelter mounted on a trailer that can use a High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), model M1097A2 or M1113 ECV, as the prime mover. The system allows deployed Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) headquarters command and control elements to communicate with deployed Special Forces Operational Detachments (SFODs) operating in remote locations, at distances up to 4,000 kilometers. The JBS(V)1 shall be capable of being transported by military aircraft C-130, C-141, C17, and C-5 and will transverse primary, secondary, and unimproved roadways when deployed. The JBS(V)1 shall be capable of operating from single-phase commercial power (90-240 Vac, 47-63Hz), military tactical (90-125 Vac, 47-63 Hz), or vehicular (28 Vdc) power. The contract type is anticipated to be a five year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity with firm-fixed-price delivery orders being issued. The period of performance will be for a base period of 12 months with four one-year options. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be released 15 September 1999. This proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns. "The Navy intends to release the solicitation, including any subsequent amendments, via the Internet.
