The Omaha District, Corps of Engineers intends to contract on a Sole Source Basis with the University Of Iowa, College of Engineering, Iowa City, Iowa to develop a three-dimensional computer modeling of the Missouri River near Fort Leavenworth Bend, KS. The model and subsequent study will evaluate project modifications that are intended to increase native river fish habitat. The study effort will require in depth knowledge of the CH3D model, the ability to make code changes as necessary, in depth knowledge of sediment transport processes in general, detailed knowledge of the Missouri River sediment characteristics, and the logistical resources to process and analyze large amounts of data. In order to insure consistency with other WES models and studies, a single source with the resource capacity for all requirements must be utilized.
