of two new, single story, 26, 500 GSF, dormitories in two phases at
the Sacramento Job Corps Center. The work also includes the demolition
of 11 buildings, as well as miscellaneous site improvements in the
form of general landscaping, roads, parking, connection to all utility
lines and site/security lighting for the new dormitory buildings. Each
dormitory building shall be bid separately. Construction of the second
dormitory (which shall be bid under a separate solicitation) shall
follow the construction of the first. Construction of the first
dormitory, Building No. 934, Phase I, shall include the demolition of
Buildings Nos. 10,11,13 and 14. Construction of the second dormitory,
Building No. 935, Phase 2, shall include the demolition of Buildings
Nos. 6, 7, 8, 800, 810, 820 and 830. The site is a 170 acre parcel of
land located in Sacramento, California, consisting of 48 buildings. The
center provides academic, vocational, medical/dental, recreational,
storage/support and housing facilities for young men and women.
Estimated time for construction is approximately 50 weeks to
substantial completion. Estimated construction cost range is from
$1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Plans and Specifications will be available on
or about August 25, 1999, ONLY from the office of SH2A Durrant, 1718
Third Street, Suite 201, Sacramento, California 95814. Contact Mr.

regarding this project. Collect calls will not be accepted. It is
emphasized that requests for plans and specifications shall be directed
to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. All
requests must be writing nad a $50 bid deposit is required which is
refundable when plans and specifications are returned in good
condition. The bid deposit must be in the form of a Certified Check,
Cashier's Check or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of
Labor, and submitted to SH2A Durrant at the time of request. All
requests will be answered on a first-come, first serve basis until
supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is
exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of
reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting
Officer) plus a shipping charge based on individual request (if
applicable) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. A
Pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for September 16, 1999, at 9:00 a.m.
local time. The Bid Opening Date is October 7, 1999, at 10:00 a.m.
local time. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside Acquisition. The
Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is
