The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with MCI Worldcom in McLean, VA for Telecommunication Services which will allow NSF to connect with National High Performance Testbeds. Currently MCI is the only source that offers nationwide and international connectivity to the research communities of interest and allows NSF to participate in the evaluation of new technologies such as IP over ATM, bandwidth reservation QOS, and native MODE IP Version 6. This announcement is posted in accordance with Federal Acquisition (FAR) part 6.302-1 and no solicitation will be issued. Formal proposals will not be requested. However, responsible sources submitting a proposal within 10 calendar days of this notice will be considered by the Government.
