Z -- REPLACE COOLING TOWER SOL IFB 646-6-99 DUE 092099 POC Lynne Dickerhoff, Contracting Officer, 412-365-5441 Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision to perform all necessary work required to complete project 646-97-152H entitled, "Replace Cooling Tower" at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Bldg. No. 25, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Project work shall include, but is not limited to the replacement of the pumps, controls, piping and support structure among other items. Enlarge the existing pump house. Remove existing cooling tower and all associated piping, wiring and controls. Asbestos abatement is required to remove existing transite panels in the cooling tower. The existing motor control center, distribution panel, conduit, and wiring associated with the existing cooling tower pumps, pumphouse lighting and power will be removed and replaced new. New installation of fencing and repairs of pavement areas is also required. Included with the above is necessary testing, balancing, and adjusting necessary to make the new cooling tower and associated equipment completely operational as described in the specifications and drawings. Work shall be performed in accordance with all VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System codes, standards, rules, regulations and other specified requirements. All work to be completed within 180 calendar days of the date of the receipt of Notice to Proceed. The standard industrial classification code is 1542. Size standard is $17.0 million. Estimated cost range: $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. Solicitation package will be available o/a August 20, 1999.
