This is the fourth amendment to solicitation N66604-99-R-5822 to answer additional questions. Question 4. In each of the three buildings, what percentage of the ductwork above the drop ceiling will be obstructed by pipes or other hindrances? Answer. The duct work should be accessible from more than one point. If an obstruction is encountered that prevents the contractor from cutting and entering a duct at a certain point, he should be able to adjust the location and still have access to clean the duct properly. Question 5. How far above the drop ceilings are the main trunks in each of the three buildings? Answer. From the scaled sections in the plans, there is approximately 4 feet between the suspended acoustical ceiling and the underside of the floor above in Building 1171. In Buildings 1258 and 1259, the clearance is 3' 6" from the suspended acoustical ceiling to the underside structural members. Question 6. Will the government be responsible for moving and/or disassembling any office cubicles, or partitions which obstruct access to appropriate sections of duct work to enable access for cleaning purposes in each of the three buildings? Answer. The contractor is responsible for moving and replacing any items required to accomplish the work except for computers, printers and monitors. The contractor's work schedule will be used as a guide to when employees will be required to move any electronic equipment. We anticipate little or no requirement for such moving. The contractor will be in constant contact with the QAE Quality Assurance Employee. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form.
