CBD ISSUE DATE 7/07/99. This modification is issued to correct the
specifications. The Uninterruptible Power System (UPS)is to replace an
existing system. The UPS distributes conditioned power to our Software
Development Labs. The critical load is powered by an inverter, which
obtains its power from a battery backup system in the event of a
utility power outage. This system is required to provide reliable power
distribution 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The minimum
specifications for this unit are as follows: 1. Minimum 225kVA / 180kW,
rated 60 Hz Uninterruptible Power System (UPS); 2. 94% +/- 1 %
efficiency at 480 VAC input to 480 VAC output;3. Input Voltage -- 480
VAC, 3 Phase, 3 Wire plus ground; 4. Output Voltage -- 480 VAC; 3
Phase, 3 Wire plus ground; 5. Input Harmonic Filter; 6. All bussbars,
wiring and transformers shall be made of copper; 7. Emergency Power
Off; 8. UL1778 approved internal backfeed protection circuitry; 9.
Power Monitoring System -- All voltage and current parameters will be
monitored and displayed; 10. Remote Alarm Summary Panel; 11. Alarm
Monitoring System -- Collect and retain information pertaining to alarm
conditions; 12. External Maintenance Bypass; 13. Battery Pack System
(expandable) -- 15 Minutes at 120kW; 14. Battery Monitoring System --
Collect and retain information pertaining to battery discharges; 15.
Battery overcharge protection; 16. Seismic mounted components, in NEMA
Type I enclosures;17. Year 2000 Compliant; 18. 2-hour response time
during normal working hours; 19. Staffed 24-hour emergency dispatch
service desk.Installation for the above unit to include the following:
1. Install external maintenance bypass; 2. Demo, remove and dispose of
existing 60 Hz UPS and batteries; 3. Remove unused power/battery wiring
conduit, racks and battery breaker box; 4. Install new UPS; 5. Connect
unput and output feeders; 6. Connect controls and alarms; 7. Install
and attach battery components; 8. Maintain space habitability; 9. Work
to start on a Thursday after 1800 on a SSC SD off Friday week.
