Watkins, 404/562-8377 TASK 1 Develop a Project Implementation Plan Prepare an Implementation Plan detailing the activities necessary to meet the objectives of this work assignment. This plan will include the following: A proposed schedule of meetings and deliverables, including the development of meeting minutes; and a cost estimate. It is anticipated that a draft document will be developed with one round of comments prior to finalization. TASK 2 Develop a Risk Assessment Work Plan and Quality Assurance Project Plan Develop a risk assessment work plan detailing the technical methodology by which data will be collected, summarized, and evaluated to determine health risk to residential receptors through the inhalation pathway. The workplan will include a conceptual site model and a propossed approach to evaluate both individual and population risk. Specifically, the workplan will outline the basis for and the methods by which the following items will be evaluated: Data collection and reduction; Data evaluation, including determination of Chemicals of Potential concern; Toxicity assessment; Exposure assessment; Risk characterization; and Evaluation of uncertainties. The workplan will also include a quality assurance project plan that outlines the methods that will be used to ensure the quality of the data and data evaluation for use in risk-based decision making. The contractor will provide the risk assessment workplan in draft, interim draft, and final versons. Depending on the level of comments, fewer drafts may be required. TASK 3 Risk Assessment Develop the risk assessment according to the workplan developed under Task 2. The contractor will provide the risk assessment results in draft, interim draft, and final report. Depending on the level of comments, fewer draft may be required. TASK 4 Risk Communication The contractor will support EPA in presenting the results of the risk assessment to the general public by developing a communications strategy and outreach materials that will provide the Alton Park and Piney Wood communities with a full understanding of the developed risk assessment. The communications strategy and outreach materials will be provided in draft, interim, and final formats. Depending on the level of comments, fewer drafts may be required.
