Abdul-Amin, 301/496 -- 2607/Contracting Officer, Debora Pitts, 301/402-2284  This is a synopsis of the intent to procure a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.  The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends to procure transportation from VWR Scientific, International Division, Plainfield, NJ. This transportation will assist the Malaria Vaccine Development Unit in setting up laboratories on location in Mali, West Africa. These laboratories are part of a developing scientific infrastructure, which will aid researchers in all areas of malaria vaccine development. The transportation required is as follows:  Transportation handling and insurance The purchase of five sea containers Exworks via Dakar to Bamako, Mali  Packing, staging, handling and stuffing  Purchase and hauling of containers  Consolidation charges of materials at Bridgeport, NJ and Statesville, NC  Pier delivery, ocean freight, harbor dues, terminal handling charges to Dakar and inland transportation to Bamako, Mali  Insurance  The solicitation document, incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 11. The government shall award a fixed price purchased order to the responsible contractor. The clause at 52.212-4, Contract terms and conditions-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The clause at 52-212-5, Contract terms and conditions required to Implement Statures or Executive Orders-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The clauses of subpart (b), which apply, are 6 & 10.  Delivery shall be completed thirty (30) days after award to: NIH/NIAID, 9000 Rockville Pike, Building 4, Bethesda, MD 20892.
