in CBD-NET on July 8, 1999, and appeared in the July 13, 1999, printed
version. The RFP issue date has been moved forward 60 days due to
Pumping Plant operations at Grand Coulee. The initial synopsis for this
requirement was posted in Section 28 of the CBD. Because Reclamation
received a very limited response, the requirement is now being posted
in Section 61. The offerors who responded to the first synopsis need
not respond to this one. The Bureau of Reclamation's Grand Coulee
Project, Grand Coulee, WA, has a requirement to furnish, install, and
test 1 stainless steel impeller with all appurtenant parts including
stainless steel rotating wearing rings, and nickel aluminum bronze
stationary wearing rings, for Pumping Unit P3 at the Grand Coulee
Pumping-Generating Plant. The pump unit is rated at 1360 cubic feet per
second. Work will include designing, fabricating, and testing a
hydraulic pump model. We anticipate issuing a Request for Proposals
(RFP) inSeptember, but all dates in this synopsis are subject to
change. The RFP will be issued on a CD-ROM and will include digital
photos of the work site which show the existing installation. A list of
parties who've requested the RFP will be posted, after the RFP has been
issued, on our web page at www.pn.usbr.gov/contracts. Offers will be
evaluated on their proposed warranted efficiencies, the amount of
successful past performance of similar requirements, the quality and
capabilities of their proposed manufacturing facilities, and price,
among other factors. A site visit will be scheduled during the first
two weeks of October 1999 and the RFP, when issued, will include the
specific date, time and meeting location for the site visit as well as
providing a contact point for the site visit. Offerors may request the
solicitation in writing at the address above, by FAX at (208) 378-5108
or by sending an email request to jpratt@pn.usbr.gov. Requests should
reference the solicitation number. Please include a contact name,
physical address, phone/ fax numbers, and your e-mail address in your
request. Offerors requesting overnight delivery should include their
Federal Express account number. Telephone requests for the RFP won't be
accepted. No charge for first copy of the CD solicitation -- additional
copies available for a non-refundable fee of $15 per CD. For this
acquisition the small business size standard is 1,000 employees and the
standard industrial classification code is 3511. This requirement is
