the Joliet Job Corps Center, Request for Proposal (RFP) for the
continued operation of the Joliet Job Corps Center located at 1101
Mills Road, Joliet, Illinois 60433 will be available approximately
August 30, 1999 on the World Wide Web at
http://www.wdsc.org/jobcorps/schedule.html. It is anticipated that the
resultant contract will cover the period May 1, 2000 through April 30,
2002 plus three Government unilateral options of one year each. The
approximate average center capacity for Joliet JCC will be 280 students
(120 residential males, 120 residential females, 15 non-residential
males and 25 non-residential females). Job Corps is a residential
training program for economically disadvantaged youth, between the ages
of 16-24. The contractor shall provide academic and vocational
training; operate a counseling and residential living program and
provide the following support services: Health Services, Processing of
Student Records, Discipline System, Clothing Issue, Mail Services and
Legal Services. The contractor will also provide overall center
management, procurement and property management, facility operations
and maintenance, security and safety services, community relations and
public information. All activities will be in compliance with
applicable DOL/Job Corps regulations, policies and handbooks. A
walk-through inspection of the Joliet JCC facility, followed
immediately by a Pre-Proposal Conference will be convened promptly at
10:00 A.M. local time on Thursday, September 9, 1999 at the Joliet Job
Corps Center (see address above). Upon entering the facility, offerors
must stop at the front desk where they will be given directions for the
conference. We recommend you download the RFP from our website prior to
attending the Pre-Proposal Conference. All questions prior to the
Pre-Proposal Conference should be submitted in writing. Proposals in
response to this RFP will be due no later than 12:00 P.M. NOON, (CST)
local time on Monday, November 1, 1999, at the following address: U.S.
