The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego is seeking sources for underwater technologies that: automatically detect and track swimmers and divers. The function of this technology is to identify surface and subsurface swimmers/divers that have entered or indicate intent to enter a secure area containing high value Navy assets. Typically this technology would separate the swimmer/diver from the background environment, develop a track on the swimmer /diver, make a determination if the swimmer/diver is a threat and provide an alert signal to the security force if a threat is indicated. This is a request for technology that will be available off-the-shelf within 90 days ARO. This is not a request for an engineering study. The device must survive the typical ocean/river environment of wind, Sea State, currents up to 3 knots, biological fouling and corrosion experienced in a port area. Interested firms shall submit catalogs, brochures or other technical descriptions of their products. Responses shall include actual and predicted performance; technical specifications (including source level, beamwidth, frequency, pulse length, scan rate, size and weight of all hardware, maximum length of cabling between sound head and Processor/display, and power consumption); long term maintenance experience in an operational environment and cost per unit. If the technology submitted does not contain the same features listed under technical specifications above, include corresponding characteristics.
