E-MAIL: Allen J. Miller, Allen.Miller-1@ksc.nasa.gov. NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Pro/Engineer Foundation DesignSuite Bundle software, maintenance, and training. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from RAND Worldwide as a sole source procurement. The Pro/Engineersoftware is uniquely suited to complex launch vehicle structural, mechanical systems, and thermal simulation work. It was selected by the engineering team as the only package capable of integrating all of these types of simulations in a single system compatible with most of our vehicle contractor model formats. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until close of business August 16, 1999 to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after August 11, 1999 or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
