The Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements (SABER) contract will be an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with a basic year period and up to seven (7) option periods. It will include a wide range of individual construction trades which will involve mechanical, electrical, heating/air conditioning, demolition, painting, plumbing, roofing, paving, carpentry, concrete masonry, earthwork, and waterfront. The Government anticipates significant subcontracting activity under this SABER contract. Individual projects will vary in size and complexity. Delivery order prices will be based on the R.S. Means Estimating System that will be utilized with the PULSAR Program extended software. The magnitude of this project is more than $10,000,000. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code for this procurement is 1542/$17 million; North American IndustryClassification (NAIC) code is 23332. It has been determined that competition will be limited to 8(a) firms located within the geographical area serviced by the SBA Louisiana District Office, which have the above assigned SIC code among those approved for 8(a) participation.
