CHEMOPREVENTION SOL N02-CN-55056 POC Dorothy M. Coleman, Contracting
Officer, 301-435-3829 E-MAIL: Dorothy M. Coleman, dc93a@nih.gov. The
National Cancer Institute intends to negotiate a six-month extension
with CCS Associates, Inc., Contract No. N02-CN-55056, to provide
critical chemoprevention resource support functions as required by the
Division of Cancer Prevention(DCP) of the National Cancer Institute.
The services that CCS Associates has provided for the past five (5)
years is comprised of tasks which integrate together to provide a
comprehensive multidisciplinary research support effort for
Chemopreventive Agent Support, Chemoprevention Investigational Studies,
Strategy Development by Workshops on Chemoprevention and Regulatory
Technical support Services. Due to the reorganization of the Division,
the six month extension will allow the National Cancer Institute (NCI)
adequate time to reassess the needs of the Division in chemoprevention
support, before recompeting this effort. The additional time is
necessary to provide continuation of ongoing research support without
interruption to ongoing services while preparing the recompetition. A
synopsis for the recompetition will be issued sometime in December
1999. The approximate date of issuance of the Request for Proposal
(RFP) for the recompetition is early January 2000. Information received
will normally be considered solely for purpose of determining whether
to conduct a competitive procurement. Authority: 41 USC 253(c)(1), as
set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Inherent duplication of tasks make
competition infeasible for this phase-out period. No collect calls will
be accepted. NUMBERED Note 22 -- The proposed contract action is for
supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and
negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.
Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to
respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent
is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals
received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under
an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this
synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the
Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon
responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for
the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. Posted 08/12/99 (W-SN366927). (0224) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0095 19990816\R-0006.SOL)
