SITES IN THE NORFOLK, VIRGINIA AREA SOL N62470-99-Q-4707 DUE 083199 POC
Contract Specialist Patty DiVito, (757) 322-4138 E-MAIL: divitopj,
divitopj@efdlant.navfac.navy.mil. The Atlantic Division, Naval
Facilities Engineering Command, Norfolk, Virginia is seeking, for
information and planning purposes, qualified and experienced sources
interested in providing Underground Storage Tank (UST) Leak Detection
Systems and Remote Monitoring Services for the Norfolk, Virginia Area.
The Navy currently maintains and operates more than 100 underground
fuel storage tanks at bases throughout the Tidewater region of
Virginia. Strict regulatory requirements have prompted the Navy to
respond and maintain compliance with existing regulations, including
the Commonwealth of Virginia UST Regulation VR 680-13, and to initiate
corrective action as necessary to reduce the risk of fuel releases. A
contractor would be required to provide the UST Leak Detection System,
24- hour monitoring, two hour response to an alarm, repairs to
defective leak detection components, and regulatory monthly release
detection reports. Veeder Root, 1021 Climbing Rose Turn, Cary, NC 27511
is the only known source with capability to provide a leak detection
system with 24 hour remote monitoring, two hour response to alarms,
repairs of defective components and regulatory monthly release
detection reporting. Interested sources with the prerequisite
capability should provide company brochure with cover letter explaining
the Leak Detection System and Remote Monitoring System available to
Commander, Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command
(Code 02126), 1510 Gilbert Street, Norfolk, VA 23511-2699 by 8-31-99.
If no responses are received, the Government shall consider the use of
the Veeder Root System as the only known source. This is not a Request
for Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the
basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
