This solicitation, F05611-99-T1528, is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). Description: 110 Kip System Upgrade for the Engineering Mechanics Laboratory at the US Air Force Academy. The Department of Engineering Mechanics currently owns three MTS 810 test stands, including one that has the capability for 110-kip loads. This frame currently has a 55 kip actuator as the driving force. As a result, the full capacity of the frame is not in use. Therefore the requirement is for MTS Systems Corporation products as follows: 1. New 110 kip actuator for existing load frame 2. 110 kip load cell 3. MTS Model 609.50 Alignment fixture 4. Installation of the above 5. Model 647.50 hydraulic wedge grips 6. Model 647.50 wedge set (flat 0.40 0 0.83 specimen thickness range) 7. Model 647.50 wedge set (Vee 0.25 -- 0.5 inch diameter specimen) 8. Model 647.50 wedge set (flat, surfalloy, 0.40 -- 0.83 inch specimen thickness range) This is approved as a Sole Source acquisition action as authorized by FAR 6.302.
