The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Detachment -- Washington D.C. is intending to award a sole source, no cost contract with PictureTel Corporation, 100 Minuteman Road M/S 711, Andover, MA 01810, for the evaluation and testing of a multipoint video conference server and/or software for the Department of the Navy, Information Network Program Office. This system is required to have the ability to support at least twenty (20) users simultaneously in different locations. The evaluation unit must support H.323 based network clients and be scalable to support H.320 ISDN gateways. The Navy reserves the option to purchase the evaluation unit at the end of the test period, depending on the results of the evaluation. NOTE: This is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the Navy's requirement prior to 30 August 1999.
