purpose of this announcement is to provide notification of the U.S.
Bureau of the Census' intent to award a sole source simplified
acquisition to the Carnegie Mellon University to perform and audit of
the American FactFinder system that will be used to disseminate Census
information to the public. Carnegie Mellon University staff, Dr.
George T. Duncan and Dr. Stephen F. Roehrig, possess superior knowledge
and expertise of statistical confidentiality methods that are necessary
to perform an autit of the American FactFinder system and have worked
jointly in the past on numerous theoretical and applied aspects of
statistical dosclosure control. As provided above, the U.S. Bureau of
the Census anticipates awarding a sole source simplified acquisition
for these services. Therefore, solicitation documents are not
