The Almanor Ranger District, Lassen National Forest intends to acquire services to perform mechanical thinning of trees from 3 inches DBH to 29.9 inches DBH to construct defensible fuel profile zones, thinning of overstocked plantations and natural stands, thinning of scattered pockets of residual trees inside of timber sale units. There is an estimated 400 acres. A Site Visit has been schedule for September 1, 1999 at 9:00 a.m. Participants will meet at the Almanor Ranger Station, 900 Highway 36, Chester, California. Desired start work date is September 27, 1999. Contract time is one year. Solicitation to be released on, or about, August 20, 1999.
