Z -- BOILER CONTROLS UPGRADE SOL IFB 10N3-224-99 DUE 092299 POC Maryann Donohue 718-584-9000 extension 4356 Contractor shall provide all work and labor to replace boiler submasters with new controllers and new boiler management system as required by contract documents for three (3) Cleaver Brooks boilers (32,000 lbs/hr) at Brooklyn, VA Medical Center. Contractor shall provide all labor and material to replace economizer/breeching and controls for three (3)Keeler boilers at St. Albans, VA Extended Care Center. Work shall include but is not limited to the following: (a) Demolition and preparatory work. (B) Replace existing boiler stack economizer to include new breeching and economizer. (C) Upgrade existing boiler and plant controls to include: Oxygen analyzers -- smoke opacity monitors -- pressure transmitters high and low -- orifice plates -- master steam pressure controller and individual submaster boiler conntrollers for firing rate, oxygen trim system and economizers, -- recorders -- fire eye flame safe. (D) Boiler management system to include prgramming, graphics and instructions. Interfacing of new controls with facility system at St. Albans VAECC. (E) Provide variable frequency drives (VFD) to control electric motors for the feedwater pumps. (F) Provide VFD for the condensate transfer pumps between condensate tank and dearator. (G) Provide a new proportioning pump type chemical feed system to feed oxygen scavenger (sulfite) to the condensate tank or dearator. (H) Remove and replace soft water make up condensate and emergency city water makeup control system Kenkey valves. Estimated cost of construction is between $250,000 and $500,000.
