The U.S. Army Soldier, Biological Chemical Command's -Natick Soldier Center (USASBCCOM-NSC) proposes to enter into a sole source contract action with Turbo Systems, Inc., of Hollywood, FL. This proposed contract action is for a commercial supply for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of the FAR 6.302. Request for the Hosokawa BEPEX GmhH Model 97 265-266 which makes an extruder which has the critical salient characteristics; 1 Two independently driven product pumps which will allow an infinite ratio of two different extrudates. 2. Self cleaning with positive pressure system. 3 . To be modular in design such that equipment can accommodate a variety of different heads to form granola, or other pressure sensitive materials. The equipment is required to support three major project: 1. Performance enhancement Ration Components (PER's) Combat Optimized Ration Component System (CORCS), and Performance Enhancement Delivery System (PEDS) Meal Ready to Eat 9(MRE) product improvement plan. This equipment will have unique research capabilities in that it will be able to co-extrude two different products and will be versatile in design to accommodate development, and commercialization of performance type products in collaboration through a CRADA with M&M Mars who has the same equipment.
