49 -- BATTERY-POWERED PORTABLE HEAT GUN SOL N68335-99-R-0310 DUE 091599 POC Stephanie Jenkins-Leonard, 732/323-2818; John L. Murtagh, Contracting Officer, 732/323-2901 The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division Lakehurst, intends to procure the Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Portable, Battery-Powered Heat Gun Assembly -- P/N MCH-100-A, consisting of a Battery Powered Heat Gun, battery pack, two (2) air deflection nozzles, a battery recharge system with battery adapter, and overall tool enclosure (except for charger and adapter), or a different assembly of Equal capability. The heat gun referenced is manufactured by Malcom Company Inc., Andover, MA. The required basic quantity is 40 each portable, Battery-Powered Heat Gun Assembly with a two year option period during which up to 250 additional heat gun assemblies may be required. The heat gun assembly shall be used ashore and afloat by Organizational and Intermediate Level maintenance personnel to perform aircraft wiring repairs. The assembly shall be capable of operating in a military environment and comply with the Military Standards for Radiated Emissions, Susceptibility, water intrusion (rain) and handling (drop test). The Heat Gun Assembly shall have an operating time of 25 to 30 minutes with a 300-watt heating element and supply air at temperatures of 900 F to 1300 F. The total weight of the Heat Gun Assembly, i.e. heat gun, battery pack, nozzles, and enclosure, shall be less than or equal to 16 pounds. The batteries shall have built in short circuit and overheating protection and be capable of being fully recharged in no more than two (2) hours in the recharge unit supplied with the tool. The heat gun assembly shall be supplied with an operation and maintenance manual. Maintenance Planning and Provisioning data and documentation is also required. Delivery of the basic quantity shall be at a rate 20 unit per month commencing within 120 days after contract award. Packaging and Marking for shipping shall be in accordance with best commercial practices and all quantities shall be delivered to NAWCAD Lakehurst, NJ via FOB Destination.
