NASA Ames Research Center plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for One (1) Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) to explore, image and study surfaces in extremely fine detail, in support of the Biosensor Program. The AFM shall include PicoSTAT, PicoScan controller and software w/IDL control electronics, 6 micron scanner, EC electrode, PicoIC Vibration Isolation Chamber, Optical Access video tip/sample viewing system, installation and 2 days training. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA Ames Research Center intends to purchase the items from Molecular Imaging of Phoenix, AZ, on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR Part 13.106-1(b), based the equipment's unique capability to image liquid samples and electrochemical samples. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE.
