The U.S. Department of the Treasury, Financial Management Service (FMS), is seeking sources to produce and maintain three (3) check processors with the ability to capture check issue information, printed in the form of MICR characters, to a magnetic tape on an in-line tape drive. FMS intends to award one commercial item contract using simplified acquisition procedures for the purchase and maintenance of the three check processors. Award will be made to the technically acceptable low price offeror, offering the best value to the government. The period of performance for any resultant contract from this announcement shall begin at award, which will occur before September 30, 1999, and continue through equipment delivery and maintenance support for up to 4 option years. Pricing for maintenance support will be requested for the period after any warranty on the equipment purchased expires. Warranty information and time periods must be addressed in any proposal received.
