It is the intend of CECOM Acquisition Center-Washington to obtain on a sole source basis from Optical Research Associates, 3280 E. Foothill Blvd. #300, Pasadena, CA 91107, several licenses with corresponding upgrades, for an Optical Design Software package for use at the U.S. Army Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) in Ft. Belvoir, VA. The software shall enable the accurate performance modeling and design of optical assemblies such as lenses, mirrors, and diffractive components. The Optical Design Software shall include the software and related support documentation and user licenses for four (4) PC stations under Windows 95/98 operating systems. The contractor shall provide unlimited user support via telephone and e-mail. The operating license and support services shall be maintained continuously for a period of five (5) years. The Optical Design Software shall allow the modeling of night vision and related optical systems, shall be able to access the existing NVESD database which is in CODE V format, and shall provide all the features/components necessary to perform the requirement for NVESD.
