THIS MODIFICATION TO DTMA94-99-B-00004 IS ISSUED TO ADD ADDITIONAL LINE
ITEMS AND TO DELETE ONE LINE ITEM. THE DESCRIPTION IS CHANGED TO READ
AS FOLLOWS: Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to (1)
convert 2nd deck storeroom to berthing area using Government furnished
drawings as reference. Extend existing lighting and ventilation
systems. Install 2nd means of escape. Install GFM bunks and lockers.
Tile the deck; (2) Construct, coat and test new aluminum tendering
platform; (3) Open, inspect, clean and test six main and emergency
switchboard circuit breakers; (4) Overhaul and re-activate the #3 Air
Conditioning Chilled Water unit. Work location will be aboard the
vessel located at its mooring at the California Maritime Academy,
Vallejo, CA. Any interested firm may attend a ship check on April 6,
1999, 11:00 a.m. Point of contact for ship check is Dennis Gleavy, 415
744-2583. The solicitation will be issued after development of the
specifications. Please request a copy of the solicitationby letter or
facsimile to (415) 744-2576. This requirement is subject to the
availability of funds.The Maritime Administration requires that to be
eligible for award under this solicitation offerors must be holders o
the MARAD Master Lump Sum Repair Agreement (MLSRA)or shall apply for
and agree to the terms and conditions of the MLSRA. Offerors may accept
the MLSRA with their bid. Non-holders shall provide all annual
representations and certifications as required by the MLSRA. NOTE: For
Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, the
Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
