Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Comfort Inn, Tooele, Utah for lodging services required in support of the Chemical Weapons Convention Treaty International Inspectors. Contractor must provide fifteen (15) lodging rooms complete with kitchenettes, cable television, and telephone service, on a daily basis, for not less than six (6) months. Contractor must also provide one (1) Duty Office to include two (2) parking spaces designated for "Official Government Vehicles," and conference room availability (minimum 1,500 sq ft) on an hourly and/or daily basis. The six (6) month period of performance for the Basic Contract is October 1, 1999 through March 31, 2000. The intended contract will include two (2) six (6) month option periods to extend the period of performance through March 31, 2001. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties have five (5) business days, from the date of publication of this Synopsis, to submit in writing, to the identified point ofcontact, their qualifications and/or capabilities. Such qualifications and/or capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government to not conduct this effort as a full-and-open competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
