V -- DELIVERY/STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION OF DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT SOL IFB 646-9-99 DUE 092999 POC Kathleen Grundza 412-365-5426 Furnish all necessary labor, equipment and materials to provide storage, delivery, set-up, instruction-in-use, repair, safety testing and/or pick-up of Government-owned durable medical equipment to eligible beneficiaries of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. Areas of delivery consist of Western Pennsylvania, Southeast Ohio, West Virginia and possibly parts of Maryland. Offerors must to be JCAHO accredited. Contractor will be required to provide service seven (7) days a week including holidays, twenty-four (24) hours per day, for the term of contract. The majority of the requests for service will be between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The offeror must provide the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare Center with a method of contacting him/her twenty-four (24) hours per day. Government may also require emergency purchase of durable medical equipment under this solicitation. Contract is for a period of one (1) year commencing on October 1, 1999through September 30, 2000 with two (2) renewable option years.
